SCI Bristol and South West Regional Group covers the geographical region of south west England.  The region is home to a number of international, national and local companies in a range of economic activity including food and drink production and manufacture, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, minerals and energy.  The region is also home to several renowned universities.  The Group's Membership reflects the wide range of economic and academic activity in the region.

The Group typically organises an annual themed programme of lectures, site visits as well as social events.  These events, aimed at local communities and students, contribute to the public understanding of science.

The Group also gives Student Prizes annually to outstanding university students in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Applied Chemistry.
